Faculty Affiliate and NC State Associate Professor Holly Brewer is author of "By Birth or Consent: Children, Law, and the Anglo-American Revolution in Authority." Professor Brewer was recently awarded the 2007 Order of the Coif Book Award for this publication. Read more about her book by clicking here. Mary L. Dudziak wrote about the award on the Legal History Blog. The award is given biennially, and has been awarded in the past to Grant Gilmore, John Rawls, Lawrence Friedman and other leading scholars. Professor Brewer is the youngest awardee. Brewer previously picked up the William Nelson Cromwell Foundation prize from the American Society for Legal History and the Willard Hurst Prize from the Law and Society Association. Congratulations!
